I'm totally digging their old school P. Ramlee and Saloma inspired photoshoot, by the way! My mamat and I talked about doing something ala Jalan Ampas inspired for our wedding theme before but the idea didn't go far so we dropped it earlier on in our discussions. I think my mat will be sooo adorable as P. Ramlee though! Cuma he a bit more gemuk and his kulit a bit too gelap hahaha but other than that, he's as dramatic as P. Ramlee, please.
Love their vintage P. Ramlee/Saloma inspired shoot as well! But really sorry to all fans of the couple who think his 'uniform' was cool, that 'uniform' he was wearing is just wrong in all aspects. He's not a police officer, he's only a volunteer, so not sure why he deserved the swordbearer ceremony which is only reserved for officers. But what's worse is that the uniform is not even a real uniform of anything. He mixed and matched things from the Malaysian police and army uniforms and put them all into that one...costume, yes I'll call it a costume. Things like those "wings" you see on the left side of his chest need to be earned after going through intensive and difficult training, not by being a celebrity. Thirdly, the basic outfit he's wearing is a "mess kit". What officers are supposed to wear for their weddings is the "one dress", which is totally different.
ReplyDeleteSo yep, I'm not impressed at all by their berangan fairy-tale officer & lady theme sebab nak step Prince William & Kate Middleton reception. All my husband's army friends found it really disrespectful of him. You wanna wear a uniform and medal, make sure you earn it first.

Deleteoh! didn't know about this - i'm not familiar with army rankings and stuff in malaysia so when i saw the pictures, i didn't think anything of his uniform and assumed he's part of the army or something. i'm guessing he must be receiving a lot of flak for it! :/
DeleteYah I was wondering something along the same lines too when I saw his uniform outfit.. Like, does he really have a military background? Oh dear I really like him as an actor (not so much Diana), but this has made him drop a notch in my eyes. Leave the acting for when you're really acting ah! I have never really been impressed by military uniform as wedding outfit (it's just a matter of my taste as I don't particularly find it romantic or cool or macho), so for him to just don it for the sake of image or impressions is even more distasteful to me!
ReplyDeleteThat aside, I really like the vintage shots too! I've always liked the 'kampung' feel shots for newly weds, but this ups the 'glam' factor! It's giving me ideas for a post-wedding private photoshoot where I'll go hijabless, then when I get my own place, I'll blow ithe photo up on canvas and hang it right smack in the centre of the loving room wall! Oh, the scandal! My mom would nag every time she comes visit... but I'll just retort that it's my house and my supposed precious aurah that I am supposedly revealing, so it's my sin to bear so all foreign men can start practising God's command to lower their gazes every time they're at my place..

Ok random, I LOVE DD's shoes for her nikah. Must go look for something similar! Thanks for sharing these cuz I wouldn't have bothered otherwise and I would have missed the awesome shoe-spration! :)
