Earlier this month, I received a sweet surprise in my email inbox...

... and what can be sweeter than an invitation to attend Fluff Bakery's Mad Hatter Tea Party-themed Media Preview, you gaize!!!

And as you can tell by now - I WAS SO EXCITED TO KNOW THAT FLUFF BAKERY IS FINALLY GOING TO OPEN THEIR OWN STORE AT 12 JALAN PISANG ON 19 OCTOBER 2013!!!!! 

I've seen how fast and how big Fluff Bakery has grown and I knew it was only a matter of time before they'd take the leap of faith and open their own store to meet crazy growing demand... and then start offering cakes and cupcakes for engagements and weddings!!! 

In case any of you haven't heard of Fluff Bakery - which is almost impossible, since they're so wildly popular and have queues snaking around the block for their cupcakes and other sweet treats - they're a local bakery whose fame first spread through Instagram because customers kept posting and raving about their cupcakes. And I can see why - Fluff Bakery's cupcakes are fluffy and delightful and comes with SO many different whimsical flavours! It's crazy!

I mean, seriously. Chocolate milkshake and fries cupcake? Lemon mascarpone cashew cupcake? Strawberry basil cheesecake cupcake? Raspberry rose pistachio cupcake? Lime mango liquid cheesecake cupcake? How whimsical is that! I know some of the names might be a mouthful, but trust me - the minute you have one of their cupcakes in your mouth, oh you'll be glad you got yourself a mouthful, alright :P

Okay I'm going to share all the information I have on Fluff Bakery and their opening details first because that's going to be more exciting than the rest of this blog entry, right?!?!?! Lol.

Menu: 

No fixed menu. Their menu rotates daily, though bestsellers such as Red Velvet Cupcake and Salted Caramel Cupcake are available everyday. With more than 80 flavours in its repertoire, fans can check for their rotating menu through Instagram (@fluffbakery) before making the trip down to their store. All cupcakes are halal, and baked with fresh fruits, masarpone and cream cheese.

$4.00 per cupcake, $4.50 per premium cupcake

I've always loved loved loved Fluff Bakery's awesome creations and used to try and find every reason to order from them for birthdays, for parties, for celebrating the fact that I lost 1kg... oh, for celebrating anything lah goddamnit. Come, I show you pictures of their cupcakes which I ordered for Nani's bachelorette party and Saliheen's birthday celebration last year!

Note: This was from the time they first took orders through personal orders and an online site last year - they stopped taking orders a few months after that because demand started surging and they couldn't keep up, so they tried to manage it by supplying 90 cupcakes (which later ballooned to 400) to two cafés first.

Even that turned out crazyshitballz because queues kept getting longer and longer, cupcakes kept selling out faster and faster and Fluff Bakery's cupcake monsters became more and more impatient and kept crying out for them to bake more and more cupcakes. It was intense, and it was nuts. I can be selfish and say I wish it'd go back to the good old days where they only took limited orders personally or via their site but honestly? I'd rather have more people know about Fluff Bakery and experience such magic in their mouths themselves! Which is why I am psyched to announce that they'll be opening up their very first store to the public this coming Saturday!!!

 We were treated to a feast of Fluff Bakery's cupcakes and cakes! No queues here HAHA

There was a cute segment at the end where everyone was invited to try making their own cupcakes with cupcake bases and fillings and toppings provided by Fluff Bakery - and in the hilarious words of the ever so charming Mr Fluffbakery "If it's good enough, maybe we'll incorporate your creation into our menu!" Lol!

Let's just say I don't think Fluff Bakery will incorporate my crappy cupcake into their menu (kwa kwa)... and I don't think I'll be quitting my day job anytime soon to open a bakery like the owners of Fluff Bakery did either HAHA. Speaking of which, the story of how Fluff Bakery started is amazing, right? The owner and head baker herself was sick and tired of her day job, decided to quit to start selling cupcakes on Instagram (with zero marketing budget okay) and hit it big from there.

And get this - she did all that when it was six months away from her wedding okay? Six months to the wedding, I was worrying about getting my measly wedding itinerary right lor. Only someone with amazing passion and drive and backed with tremendous support from her loved ones can throw caution to the wind, quit her job, face financial uncertainty, juggle wedding planning and expectations, struggle to bake for nights on end while finding time for her family, her friends, her then-fiance now-husband and herself, and pour all her heart and soul, time and effort, sweat and blood into something she truly loved... six freaking months to the wedding. The craziest thing I've done is change bridals four months to my wedding seh wtf.

Got a box of Fluff Bakery's cupcakes after the preview and I was so excited to try everything because they were all in different flavours that I haven't tried!!!!!

I've only had their Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, Mango and Rocky Road before and all of them didn't disappoint. Tried their Earl Grey cupcake at the preview but didn't like it as much, probably because I am not a fan of Earl Grey meh. But no matter! Because I got to taste some other flavours from the box I received and am now proud to declare myself as a new fan of their Ispahan and Lavender Blueberry cupcakes. SO YUMMY!!!

And oh, of course, how can I forget the most important thing that I wanted to say???

The owners of Fluff Bakery has ~woohoohoo~ confirmed that they will be taking in orders for engagements and weddings now that they have the store and manpower to make it happen!!!!! How freaking awesome is that?!?!?!

But whoa whoa whoa, hold your horses, darlings, don't stumble all over each other to place your orders just yet - Fluff Bakery will not be taking such engagement and wedding orders immediately when they open their store to the public this coming 19 October. 

Y'all will have to wait for their official announcement on the official date they'll start taking orders for engagements and weddings! But don't fret, because the official date won't be long from their official store opening date so just keep your eyes wide open on - where else but - their Instagram account (@fluffbakery) okay?

They've started honing their skills for friends and families' official events though, so there is no need to doubt whether they'll be able to fulfill your orders and requirements. Just yesterday, Fluff Bakery uploaded pictures of a cake and cupcake setup they did for a friend's wedding:

Bet all the bakal pengantins who are huge Fluff Bakery fans are screaming their insides out now!!! Hehe. I must warn you guys that there's a risk involved when you order your wedding cake/cupcakes from Fluff Bakery though - your guests might berebut (scramble) for your wedding cake/cupcakes so you might have to employ a special task force to jaga your wedding cake/cupcakes for you... or guests might start attending your wedding a few hours before your reception starts so they can start queuing for your wedding cake/cupcakes! Haha!

Of course the worse fact of life yang pahit ditelan (bitter to swallow) would be you not being able to get a proper taste of the cake/cupcakes yourself once the reception ends. Barang baik will cepat habis ma. Even if you get a taste of it during your suap menyuap session (cake feeding session) there's only so much you can attempt to take! Tak glamour eh nyah, get caught on camera and video woofing down gulps of your wedding cake/cupcakes in your glitzy bridal wear. 

Oh and yes, just thought I should mention this as well since it's a pretty important factor - unlike other bakeries, Fluff Bakery does not use buttercream and fondant for their cakes and cupcakes okay! So please don't force ask them to use buttercream and fondant for your wedding cake/cupcake orders or question them on their decision to not do so, okay??? You'll be able to choose the flavours that you want for your wedding cakes and cupcakes though so yay for that! 

Couldn't help but joked to the owner that she'll probably get orders 2 years in advance (as with the other vendors in the local Malay wedding industry) once Fluff Bakery starts taking wedding orders HAHA but the consensus for now is that they'll most probably go down the route of taking orders for the year, closing orders once the quota is reached, and then repeat the same pattern for the following years. So jangan berangan nak (don't dream of) ordering your engagement or wedding cakes/cupcakes 4, 5 years in advance okay korang.

Oooooh one more other exciting thing to say before I wrap up this entry: Fluff Bakery is also planning to venture into wedding dessert table setup so you all must watch out for that hor!!! Imagine - a super pretty dessert table setup with all of Fluff Bakery's cupcake and sweet treats goodness for you and your guests to enjoy! Silap hari bulan, you will see the pengantin sitting at the dessert table aje and refusing to move anywhere else hahahahaha.
