not so golden, after all

So this exploded all over Facebook yesterday:

I didn't engage Peti Solek The Bridal Room and have never met or worked with them before (unless you count sponsoring my friend's gubahan trays with Pretty Chic by Peti Solek) but I've followed their progress for the last 2 years plus, I've had friends who engaged their services, heard only good things about them and I have a very good impression of them based on what I've heard, what I've read and what I've seen (their postings on Facebook have been friendly and funny + their outfits are very, very pretty!)

What I can deduce from this unfortunate exchange: Golden Moment Productions is a rude, unreasonable, difficult, nasty and unprofessional service provider who resorts to public shaming, undeserved sarcasm and vulgarities, and I wouldn't want anyone to consider or recommend their services to future clients based on this episode alone! They have obviously forgotten that now is the golden era of social media, and how you conduct yourselves on social platforms can make or break your business.

I don't care if their product is good because really, why settle for a bully who does good videos when you can engage so many other awesome companies who can produce good videos (some even better) AND get along well with other vendors? Why make your genuinely nice and hardworking vendors work with douchebags like that?

Even their mightier-than-thou social media updates are such a turn off okay! Macam mana punya bagus je. Why would anyone in the right mind engage a service provider who is boorish and shows signs of being a total dickhead ni?

Peti Solek The Bridal Room kept their composure and tackled Golden Moment Productions' baseless attacks with intelligence, good manner and grace, in my opinion, and their civilized response only serves to heighten my level of respect and awe for the bridal company.

Seriously, Golden Moment Productions have much to learn from Peti Solek The Bridal Room in terms of good manners and professionalism! Nama company je Golden Moments Productions tapi perangai and tatasusila tak golden langsung.

Pangkah!

busuk tales of bunga bouquet

I don't usually post explicit stories about wedding vendors bitching and clawing each other to death because you can never really pass judgment without truly knowing both sides of the story.

Unfortunately the latest saga between two bouquet sellers is backed with legit pictorial evidence and has left me feeling very, very disgusted and very, very angry... and I am disgusted and engry enough to share the saga - You can click here to see the album specially dedicated to what happened by Cradle Love by Matyn + Mishel.

No further comments from me because I'd prefer you browse through the postings and make your own conclusion. Peace out, K-town.

a farewell and a welcome onboard

Last week I was greeted with devastating news that the lovely Facelift Design &Interiors will no longer provide bridal room decor starting from 2013...

... but this week, I was super excited to see Mariah & Sham announcing their latest development; they're finally expanding to become a full-time business!!!!! Hopefully this means that they can take on more projects, create more of their incrediblely lawa works for lucky couples, and make me all warm and fuzzy inside when I see their pictures grace my Facebook timeline!

(Lagi mulia dari all the ridiculous "Like this post if you want to help this child" and "If I get 1 million likes, you must donate $1 million to charity" nonsense that have been cluttering my timeline lately. I have nothing against helping a child from another part of the world or seeking donations for charities but seriously, guys, Facebook likes??? Get off your ass and ACT ON IT if you're sincere and serious about the cause. I am also quite disturbed that my Facebook timeline is filled with such things because that means I have enough friends and cousins who think a Facebook 'like' will make some kind of difference. Such horror.)

Anyway, back to the exciting news - even though I don't think I'll be engaging them for anything related to my wedding, I'm definitely thrilled that Mariah & Sham is taking this much-awaited step to make their mark in the industry and look forward to see more of their awesomeness.

Watch out, local Malay wedding industry!
